What Is Tarte Flambée? The Alsatian Specialty We Want to Bring to Granada

If you have never tried Tarte Flambée, known in Alsace as Flammekueche, you are about to discover one of the region's most distinctive dishes.

Its base is very thin and crisp, traditionally topped with a creamy mixture, onions and bacon. It is baked at high heat and served hot, often to share.

Is it pizza?

No. Although it is baked on a dough base, traditional Tarte Flambée is much thinner and crisper, with an elongated rectangular shape. Its identity belongs to Alsace.

From Alsatian ovens to Granada

Tarte Flambée grew from the bread-oven traditions of Alsace. Today it is part of the region's food culture, and we want to bring that experience to Granada.

At Winstub Granada, Flammekueche will be at the heart of our food offering: simple food made for sharing, with wine and the spirit of a Winstub.
